2. Psychological Counseling, Therapy, and Referral Services Psychological and emotional problems are very common in Pakistan , and yet they often remained unrecognized, misunderstood, and inappropriately addressed. In addition, what a large number of people do not realize is that the psychological effects of violence can be severe and long-lasting. Violence against women is rarely talked about openly and the general public is mostly unaware of its extent and the impact it has on society. In order to create a nurturing, supportive and safe atmosphere and provide quality care to women suffering from mental and emotional problems, Zeest provides a counseling facility for women. 3. Self-Growth Workshops Women's Program Zeest conducts self-growth workshops with various groups with the aim of facilitating the learning of life skills, bringing about an attitudinal change, and promoting self-esteem and confidence in women for a positive life style. 4. Capacity Building Women's Program Zeest works to build the capacity of both government and non-government organizations as well as with professionals such as police, media, lawyers, medical health professionals and service providers working with survivors of violence, through sensitization and skill building. 5. Special Initiatives Special initiatives by the program include the Ethics Consultation Process and the White Ribbon Campaign. The Ethics Consultation Process led to the development of a code of ethics for working with survivors of violence and the White Ribbon Campaign aims to involve men to fight violence against women. 6. Psychosocial Relief Program Rozan runs a psychosocial project for earthquake-affected communities of Pakistan . This project is now working with a specific focus on gender and violence against women in the affected areas.
